Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar vs Sleek Paint Pout

Dolly Loves You checks out lip tars and lip paints

OCC and Sleek are brands synonymous with the pigmentation of their products. OCC for their Lip Tars and Sleek for their eyeshadow palettes and expansive foundation range.

Lip Tars are an intense opaque liquid lip colour, that are all fully mixable with an intense pigmentation and smooth application. The ethos behind the product is that you can create just about any colour with any intensity. Which means that if you cannot find your ideal colour in the store you can quite easily mix up your ideal shade.

Pout Paints were released approximately 12 months after Lip Tars and are Sleek's interpretation of this well talked about product, though they do state on the packaging that they are "highly pigmented lipstains".

Price -
OCC Lip Tars, £9.50               3/5
Sleek Pout Paints, £4.99        4/5

Wearability
OCC LipTars apply well to the lips and dry matt. So it is essential that your lips are well moisturised before application. For a glossy lip simply apply a gloss for that multi dimensional effect. 5/5
Sleek Pout Paints also apply smoothly to the lips but they do not dry matt but stay somewhat glossy. 3/5

Overall Rating
Personally I prefer OCC Lip Tars for the colour pay off, the wide range in colours, their longevity and the fact that they dry matt. But if you are on a budget Sleek is definitely the way to go, especially as it is readily available on the high street (Superdrug).

Thinking about taking the plunge, then here is how to apply them:

o Apply lipliner, all over the lips to prevent bleeding as this particular product can spread without a liner.
o Do not apply direct from tube, instead use a lip brush as you will only need a small drop of this product to cover the lips
o Apply slowly as these products will stain. If you run into trouble apply some baby oil to a pointed cotton bud and remove the excess product
