This season's spotlight falls on ponytails



A ponytail always comes to the rescue on a bad hair day but this season it is the style to be seen in. Of course variety is key and there are number of ways to flex your tail, yet there is always a trend that champions above the rest and that is the smooth pony. 'Sleek, chic ponytails are a real statement piece this season,' says Michelle Thompson, creative director at Francesco Group, Lichfield. 'Depending on your face shape you can wear them with a side or centre parting or just pulled straight back. Whether you want to reflect a chic look by wearing your pony low or high for a more street look, this versatile style can be worn in many ways.'

What's the best way to wear your tie up?

The best way to wear ponytails is super sleek and smooth. If you want to create the perfect pony, use a bristle brush to smooth the hair up and away from the face and around the nape, gathering up all of the hair just below the crown. Then, take an elastic end and place Kirby grips on both ends, before putting one grip through the top base of the ponytail. Finally, wrap the band around the ponytail until tight and secure in place underneath the base of the ponytail with the other grip to leave you rocking the perfect on-trend look!
