Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie practises fashion nationalism

In a show of solidarity, writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is practising ‘fashion nationalism’, where she will only be wearing Nigerian designers to public events. ‘I would be supporting the different layers of the industry, from the button-sewer to the delivery person, and I hoped to bring other buyers to Nigerian brands,’ she says. • She's my hero. It's very hard to love Nigeria and still not be proud of it. To the point of not ever thinking of returning. But through her, I see hope for the future of Nigeria, knowing that if enough people like me work hard, we might return one day and try. Try to do something, anything!
