Marika Bastien checks out the latest temporary tattoos

For this Intern Investigates I am looking at the famous temporary tattoos everyone has been obsessing over. As seen on celebrities such as Beyoncé and Khloe Kardashian, these gold and silver tattoos are a fun and great way to complete your festival look this summer. I tried out three different brands to see which designs I liked the most and which ones were long lasting.

The first brand I tried was Primark. I placed the Primark tattoo on my wrist and shoulder as I found their designs were not as creative as other brands I had previously seen. It did not apply on very well, despite it being advertised as “easy”. After 2 hours of having the tattoo on it had already began to rub off, which was a bit of a disappointment. However for only £1.50 a packet I couldn’t really complain.

The next brand I tried was from Seekers of The Sun. I was sent three sheets of tattoos from separate collections. I was happy to be given a variety, as Primark was very limited. I loved the designs of these tattoo, as each collection was so different. My favourite collection was the “Lottie London” collection, which involved a loads of small tattoos that looked great on you hands and fingers. I used two tattoos from Seekers of The Sun, which I placed on my arm and around my fingers. I tested these tattoos in water to see if they remained on, which they did. After showering and a day od purposely washing dishes, my tattoos were still visible and in good condition.

The last brand I tested was from Bohemian Tats. The first thing I loved about these tattoos was the fact that they came in colours. Unlike other stores brands, Bohemian Tats provided me with a gold and turquoise collection that I thought would look amazing on my skin. I put these ones on in the morning on my hand and the next day it was still visible. It had rubbed off slyly after going in the shower but it still remained visible.
