The Miss Natural Hair UK is the beauty pageant for women with natural hair. It was set up by Conscious Vibes founder, Angela Small who noticed the lack of representation of women with natural hair being selected in regular beauty pageants. This obviously has the effect of making women with natural hair feel less beautiful.The competition welcomes women with afros, locs, braids or loose natural hair.
According to Angela, the regional heats are coming along well, so far, they’ve covered the London, Birmingham and Manchester heats and will be going to Bristol this weekend. 16 finalists will be battling it out at the finals in September.
