SimSim of SimSimStylez gives yarn braids the green light

SimSim is a bonafide artist when it comes to natural styles. She fill us in on the idea behind this stunning shoot.‘My models, the Alexander Twins, Britny and Tiffany love to experiment and so I chose to use yarn because of the vibrant colours available.’

LUSH LOCS

This yarn dreads hairstyle starts with parting a section of Britny’s hair, then using pieces of yarn to create a box braid of the desired length. After finishing the braid, short pieces of yarn were wrapped around the braid to create the dreads

WE SAY

Yarn braids were the most trending protective hairstyles over summer, but there’s no reason why they can’t be taken into the cooler months, especially with autumnal colours like this forest green.
