Leading Swiss professional sun care brand Ultrasun and skincare brand skinSense by Abi Cleeve, announce ARClight, an initiative designed to support change by helping black-owned skincare brands achieve the mainstream platform they deserve. ARClight will launch this year and run annually. Each year the initiative will offer an independent black-owned skincare brand access to a suite of free business support assets over 12 months, selecting those most relevant and useful to create a tailored business plan.
A short list from inaugural applications will be interviewed and the first brand selected by the panel, which includes: Ronke Adeyemi – founder of Brown Beauty Talk • Lynda Daboh – content creator and brand consultant • Abi Cleeve – founder of Ultrasun UK and skinSense.
Abi Cleeve is best known for launching Swiss sun care brand Ultrasun in the UK over 20 years ago and steering it to its current position as the UK’s leading independent professional sun protection brand.
Abi commented on setting up the initiative: “An ARC light is a very bright light used to light up actors positioned centre stage, which encapsulates the mission behind our initiative. Talented, innovative black owned skincare brands that require nothing more than to be given the floor and equal access to market that make sure a business is seen. Ultrasun and skinSense have always formulated for all skin types and all skin tones, and we have been fortunate enough to spread the word with the expert partners we work with.”
