The search is on to find the UK’s Instagram afro hairstylist. Whether you work with relaxed hair, weaves, braids or naturals, we’d love to hear from you. Just upload your work and get your fans, family and friends to vote for you.
You don’t have to do a special shoot, just upload your favourite Instagram picture onto the Shortstacker site (details to come on the 25th April 2017). You can upload up to five different pictures but remember, it may dilute your vote. One stunning picture may be all you need to propel you into the finals.
The Instagram #Afrohairshowcomp is a two-part competition and is open to to all UK based hairdressers, who use Instagram to market their work.
Stage one: You can enter by uploading an image onto the Shortstacker site (the link will be live on 25th April 2017). You can then get your friends, family and fans to vote for you. The five stylists with the highest amount of public votes will go through to the finals.
Stage two: The finalists who have gained the most public votes will be invited to take part in the second stage of the competition – displaying a live model at the Afro Hair & Beauty Show LIVE stage, where they will be judged by a panel of experts including Black Beauty & Hair’s editor-in-chief Irene Shelley. The prize will include a trophy, ghd products, hair and beauty products and publicity in Black Beauty & Hair magazine, blackbeautyandhair.com and their associated social media platforms.

What better platform to showcase your work than at Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE, the biggest black hair event in Europe? The competition will help to shine a spotlight on the very creative talent in this sector.’
