We Test Drive the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Range & Love It

BBH intern test drives the new OGX Extra Strength Hydrate + Revive Argan Oil of Morocco range

OGX is back with new Extra Strength Hydrate + Revive Argan Oil of Morocco which is a re-formulated version of the well-known Renewing + Argan Oil of Morocco Range. The new range promises more hydration with a creamier and thicker formula. It also contains silk proteins and argan oil to leave your hair soft and luxurious. I was given the Extra Strength Hydrate + Revive Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo (£7.99/385ml), Extra Strength Hydrate + Revive Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner (£7.99/385ml) and the versatile Extra Strength Hydrate + Revive Argan Oil of Morocco Miracle In Shower Oil (£7.99/118ml), which can be used for both hair and skin.

I applied the oil as a pre-poo treatment and left it on for 10 minutes before I shampooed. I have to agree with the thicker and creamier formula. The shampoo is thick and produces a good amount of suds. It gently cleansed my hair and scalp without stripping it of moisture, I actually felt my hair was really soft, like I had just conditioned it. I was also able to use the suds to finger-detangle my hair.

I mixed the conditioner with the oil as recommended, applied and left on for 30 minutes. The conditioner is thicker too but didn’t give a lot of slip. After I washed it out, my hair felt like silk! It was so soft, felt stronger and luxurious. I followed up with the oil before applying my leave-in conditioner.

Verdict

I have always loved OGX and their Argan Oil range. I really like the products, especially the oil which has many uses and benefits. I wish the range had a leave-in conditioner for daily use which can be paired with the oil and a treatment mask for those days your hair needs a little bit extra conditioning (are you listening OGX?). I am looking forward to using more of the oil as recommended, but for now its two thumbs up!
