Our BBH tester put her favourite Iman beauty products through their paces
With many make-up brands rushing to bring out ‘black girl friendly’ products, it’s easy to forget the brands who have consistently provided us with an array of high quality make-up products to suit mixed-race skin tones all the way to the darkest of tones. Our tester Vanessa has selected four Iman products that give flawless results, whether you’re experienced in applying make-up or whether you’re an MUA in the making; with an added bonus of being affordable!
1. Iman Luxury Moisturising Lipstick – Rebel, £12.95 Brown lipsticks have always been complimentary to black skin and this ‘Rebel’ lipstick is no exception. It glides on effortlessly and leaves lips full of colour and full of moisture.
2. Iman Luxury Concealing Foundation – £16.50 Black skin is super prone to hyperpigmentation and scarring. Any slight trauma to the skin can cause uneven skin tone. This luxury concealing foundation can cover blemishes and dark marks and is buildable.
3. Perfect Blackest Brown Eyebrow Pencil, £11.95 It’s a dual-ended pencil that comes with its own pencil sharpener on the lid. It creates and defines your eyebrows for a natural look. The soft, silky formula is richly pigmented for definition on darker skin tones. If you’ve got sparse brows, this does a good job in filling them in.
4. Luxury Highlighter – Glamour Girl, £12.95 Finding a highlighter that doesn’t look ashy has been an uphill struggle until now. The pink hue of the Glamour Girl highlighter gives a warm radiant glow to the face, eyes and lips and is good for adding sleekness to your nose. In fact, it looks great anywhere you want that sunkissed glow. The formula is creamy and adds a lovely shimmer.
