International hairstylist Jawara Wauchope is the new ambassador and thought leader for renowned haircare brand Fekkai. We can’t wait to see what he comes up with

Haircare brand FEKKAI has announced the signing of international hairstylist Jawara Wauchope as its new Stylist Partner. As a leading stylist and professional hair consultant, Jawara will be an ambassador and thought leader for the brand, speaking to the press about products and trends in textured, curly haircare and styling.

One of the most sought-after names in fashion, Jawara’s aesthetic ranges from intricate hair art inspired by black culture to statement celebrity looks. He has worked with some of the most prestigious brands within the industry including, Burberry, Off-White, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Nina Ricci, Thierry Mugler, Chloe, Chanel, and Hermès.

Jawara is an incredibly talented artist with a versatile ability to style a myriad of diverse clients. I love the fact that he is so immersed in the cross section of beauty and fashion. His visionary work with high profile and streetwear designers is amazing and commendable. I am delighted and thrilled that Jawara will be our FEKKAI Stylist Partner.

Jawara first started his career as a salon assistant in Brooklyn when he was just 16. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology and the Aveda Institute, Jawara moved to London and began assisting industry legends Guido Palau and Luigi Murenu on runway shows and shoots. It was after being mentored by legendary hairstylist Sam McKnight that Jawara reached the level of artistry at which he works today.

After leaving McKnight’s team in 2013, Jawara began working independently and since then his work has garnered the attention of many influential names including musical talents Cardi B, FKA Twigs and Solange. His work is also frequently featured in the pages of British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Re-edition, Dazed, i-D Magazine and W Magazine, among others.

I am so excited to be partnering with the Fekkai team, it’s always humbling to be partnering with a company that believes in making quality clean products for textured hair with a respect to our environment in mind.
