Nubian Reines | Black founder children’s accessory brand

New accessories brand Nubian Reines aims to empower young black girls

Founder Cilrette Hamilton

Nubian Reines is a brand that seeks to empower and provide representation for black and mixed girls. They make backpacks, lunchboxes, pencil cases and clothing. The products are adorned with a logo which consist of three Nubian queens.

The company, which specialises in accessories, footwear, clothing and shoes for young girls aged between seven to 12-years-old, was set up by Cilrette Hamilton to empower and provide representation to the market for young black and mixed girls.
Cilrette explains: “Our target audience is ideally parents/guardians who have children aged seven to 12. With the release of our new faux leather bags we aim to also target teens as well as some adults, that are cool enough to sport a faux leather bag with cartoon characters on them.”

The brand’s logo consists of three Nubian queens, with different skintones and each sporting natural hair and who each have their own African names that, translated into English means ‘queen’. The Nubian queens each have their own specialist school subject as well as their own creative interests.
Nubian Reines brother brand, Nubian Rois (rois means ‘kings’) is due to launch soon and will provide representation for black and mixed boys.
