Glitter Makeup is the Big NEW Trend for A/W 2016

Autumn/winter makeup is usually a spectrum of berry tones and smoky eyes but 2016 sees a surprise injection of sparkle

Once the reserve for fancy dress parties and more recently, festivals and carnivals, glitter make up is now set to be a massive trend this season.

There are a few ways to sport this simple but striking look. We take a look at four of them.

How to wear glitter make up

Look 1: Lightly dust glitter under the eye and across the cheeks like the ‘glitter tears’ as seen on Burberry models at London Fashion Week.

Look 2: For a more dramatic look, heavily apply glitter in a crescent shape from the outer eyelid around to the top of the cheekbone on just one eye as donned by Captial Xtra Presenter, Yinka Bokinni

Look 3: For an even more striking look, apply larger glitter granules or small sequins in the same crescent shape, this time, starting above the eye brow taking the shape down to and covering the cheek as rocked by Blogger Racheal Sealy aka UKafrolista

Look 4: Take it back to basics like Lionbabe singer, Jillian Hervey, and wear glitter on the eyelids of both eyes! Dust the glitter on top of a metallic eyeshadow and dab any excess around the outside of and under the eye.

How to apply it

Put a dab of your regular moisturiser or primer like Black Up 8hr correcting primer on the outside of your eye. Simply apply the glitter to the area whilst it’s still damp. We like NYX face and body glitter  and Accessorize Body Glitter Pot Duo

Team it with

A nude lip colour like MDM Flow liquid lipstick in New Nude
